Known as a defect in certain Kamina's genes which they believe to be a curse from the time of the ‘Ancients Reign’ - their blood tainted from the first Kamina Brood of The Ancients.
When the first Wyvin was discovered, the Kamina sent them to live in isolation somewhere out of sight. To keep the Wyvins satisfied over their lifespan, the Kamina sacrifice a single person to visit their lair as companionship. The sacrifice can be of any race.
Wyvins are not evil or vindictive but they are amorously playful, darkly sensuous and have an uncontrollable sexual desire. A Wyviness can’t reproduce with any race - hence why they cherish their companions throughout their lifespan.
Wyvins don't need to eat or sleep - and only need the lust of their Thrall to survive.
A Kamina showing signs of the Wyvin curse, they can no longer develop magical abilities and will only ever be able to use the Wyvin abilities.
An impenetrable substance is excreted from their hands like a latex tar and can be used to encase thralls in a skin-tight coating or cocoon them during their transformation.
Wyvins are able to transform into whisps of smoke for short periods of time, whether it be avoiding a blow or darting behind their prey.
A black venom is excreted from the Wyvin's fangs that can paralyse their prey and transform their chosen companion into a thrall.
The Wyvin Curse causes certain Kamina to undergo anatomical and magical changes when they reach their ‘Fruility’ stage of adolescence. Changes such as; horns and nails growing longer and tougher, small ornamental wings span from their lower backs, their tongues become longer and pronged at the tip and their canine teeth elongate into sharp venom-filled fangs. The pupils of their eyes also split into an eight-pointed star and their genitalia, tongue and spear of their tail turn black. They call a transformed Kamina, a Wyviness.
On top of their genitalia turning black, their bodily liquids such as saliva, and natural lubricant also turn black like their dark Weave.
The Wyvins and Thralls have small ornamental wings on their lower backs - too small to use to fly or wrap around themselves or their companions but are an obvious trait of their Wyvin or Thrall state and can be easily tucked under cloaks.
When a Wyviness or Thrall need/want to fly - their wings can expand to a larger size that will enable them to lift their bodies off the ground. They're large enough to wrap around themselves and their companions the top clawed corners towering over their heads.
The Wyvin Caves are located in the Dragon Teeth Mountains on the outskirts of Drista. The location was chosen during the treaty talks between the Valkte and the Kamina years ago. As long as the Kamina continued to supply Drista with their high-end merchandise and offer agents for protection, then Drista's Frostblade Soldiers would continue to patrol the Wyvin caves and make sure they're kept out of trouble.
The Frostblades escort new Wyvins and their chosen sacrifice to the caves once handed over by the Iron Maiden Agents of Saphina.
The way up to the caves is marked clearly and repeatedly with an eight-pointed star symbol, that represents the shape of a Wyvin's pupil.
Since thralls and Wyvins don't need food - the caves are untouched by outsiders unless new Wyvins or sacrifices are escorted there for the rest of their lives.
The caves contain ancient ruins that have been there for as long as the Valkte can remember and serve as a perfect holding place for the cursed Kamina and their thralls.
It is not uncommon that a Wyviness should escape the Iron Maidens, or yet a Kamina living in solitude may become a Wyviness undetected by the Iron Maidens - but would result in them having to live in hiding to prevent them from being caught.
Rumours have spread that somewhere within the vast depths of the Wyvin caves, lies a High Wyviness. Something like a matriarch was never thought possible amongst a clan of such creatures - but in one form or another, there is a hint of order. Some of the Frostblade soldiers of Drista have talked of a Wyviness that has no thralls but feeds on the other Wyvins of her choosing. One to which all Wyvins answer, desire and obey without question, a Mistress of Darkness, Lillia.
Lillia has an uncanny ability to get inside your head, she knows what you're thinking, feeling and can predict how you'll react to certain predicaments. This is how her own special cult of spies has spread deep within the veins of Aultora.
She herself doesn't have any thralls of her own - and hasn't needed any, whilst the cult known as 'Lillia's thorns' are her eyes and ears of Aultora - she feeds on the pleasure of other Wyvins of her choosing, who willingly share in her lust.
Some say her little spies go as deep as to have even infected the Frost Blade Guards, almost all of which allow her informants and herself in and out of the Wyvin Caves.
The High Wyviness is a force not to be reckoned with, her power and persuasion will have you questioning your very existence in the World of Aultora.
Thralls are companions that have been sacrificed to the Wyvins to quench their lust and transformed by a Wyviness. Paralysed by the venom that's administered through a Wyvin's fangs via a flesh deep bite they are transformed whilst wrapped in their dark weave - cocooned and toyed with until they become a willing Thrall.
Once the transformation is complete - the Thralls have certain developed anatomy traits, such as; their genitalia, inside of their mouths, claws and sclera (white of the eye) turn black, wings span from their lower backs and the claws on their fingers elongate as do their canine teeth transforming into venom-filled fangs.
Their ornamental wings can also expand to a larger size when a Thrall needs/wants to fly.
Both the Thrall and the Wyvin that turned them cannot live without each other. They no longer need to eat or sleep like their Wyvin Mistress' but survive off of their lust for each other, they can also no long reproduce no matter the gender.
A Kamina bitten by a Wyvin will awaken the curse within them and turn the Kamina into a Wyviness not a thrall. They will loose all their previous abilities and be left with a Wyvin's anatomy and skills.
Should the unfortunate incidence occur; that a loose Wyviness turn a pregnant female, then the unborn child will be miscarriaged during their transformation. Since a Thrall once turned no longer needs to eat, the female would not be able to provide the child with any sustenance.
Wyvin's prefer to cocoon their companions once bitten to keep them safe during their transformation - the cocoon is practically impenetrable and acts as a warm womb before they're born a new creature - a thrall.
Choosing a thrall happens in different ways; if the Kamina already has a partner when one shows signs of becoming a Wyvin then their partner is the obvious choice to be their thrall. Other times a Thrall is chosen for them by the Matriarch or Council of Drista, usually a criminal as punishment. Others it's when a poor wanderer trespasses into their caves for shelter and are taken and turned.
A Wyvin can have more then one Thrall - but can't claim a thrall that's been turned by another Wyvin.
The Thrall Transformation is permanent.
A thralls purpose is to serve their Wyviness Mistress as companions to satisfy their needs.
Thralls cannot create new thralls.
A thralls' venom can only paralyse other beings - except their Wyvin Mistress.
A Kamina bitten by a Wyvin will awaken the curse within them and turn the Kamina into a Wyviness not a thrall.
They will lose all their previous abilities and be left with a Wyvin's anatomy and skills.
Dralic thralls aren't very common - but the ones that have been chosen by a Wyviness undergo certain anatomical changes:
Claws:
Dralic Claws - even the Ohla's grow longer, stronger and turn black
Teeth:
Dralic canine teeth grow longer and become venom-filled fangs that are able to paralyse creatures/races except for their Wyvin Mistress.
Eyes:
The sclera (white of the eye) turn from their bright colour to pitch black.
Mouths:
The inside of their mouths also turn from their bright colour to a pitch black.
Genitalia:
The genitalia of all sexes turn pitch black, their bodily liquids such as saliva, semen and natural lubricant also turn black like the Wyvin's dark Weave.
Wings:
Small ornamental wings sprout from the small of their back just above the hilt of their tails. The wings are able to expand to a larger size when they need/want to fly, much like their Wyvin Mistress.
Abilities:
A Dralic thrall can still use their Elemental abilities/connections from their clan/cult origin - however, they also obtain one of their Wyvin Mistress's abilities; such as paralysing Venom in their fangs.
Thralls cannot create new thralls.
Appetite:
Thralls once turned no longer need to eat or sleep and only survive off of the lust of their Wyvin Mistress.
Valkte thralls are the least common due to their treaty agreement with the Kamina - but the ones that have been chosen by a Wyviness undergo certain anatomical changes:
Claws:
Valkte Claws grow longer, stronger and turn black
Teeth:
Valkte canine teeth grow longer and become venom-filled fangs that are able to paralyse creatures/races except for their Wyvin Mistress.
Abilities:
A Valkte Thrall still needs blood to contain their Blood Lust form - but can only drink the blood of their Wyvin Mistress. They can still use their Crysallis Abilities, however, they also obtain one of their Wyvin Mistress's abilities; such as paralysing Venom in their fangs.
Thralls cannot create new thralls.
Appetite:
Thralls once turned no longer need to eat or sleep and only survive off of the lust of their Wyvin Mistress.
Rawkken thralls are probably the most common due to their already features if a Rawkken is an abandoned and their lack of certain anatomical changes when they do become a thrall that helps them blend in with the world without being seen as a Wyviness's thrall:
Mouths:
The inside of their mouths turns to a pitch-black, rather then elongated fangs filled with venom, their saliva acts as a paralysis if applied to anyone other then their Wyviness Mistress.
Abilities:
A Rawkken Thrall can still use their Ethereal ability to phase into their Oryalis territory physically, their horns and whiskers remaining the same colour they were blessed or born with. Though because of the new nature, spirits avoid them in the Oryalis making it difficult for thralls to obtain information through them.
Thralls cannot create new thralls.
Appetite:
Thralls once turned no longer need to eat or sleep and only survive off of the lust of their Wyvin Mistress.
